POTENTIAL DAYS OF PREGNANCY LOST

historic

The "Potential Days of Pregnancy Missed" (DPGP) survey: an innovative measure of gestational age to assess interventions and maternal and child health outcomes is a survey that began with the understanding that each day of pregnancy is less than 40 weeks (or 280 days) ) complete, negatively impacts the health of babies. We propose a simple indicator, with great explanatory potential in the prognosis of mothers and babies, which can be used as a continuous variable, with data already available in health information systems.

The project was part of the so-called Grand Challenges Explorations - Brazil. Data Science to Improve Maternal and Child Health in Brazil; being financed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation - process number OPP1201939- and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) - process number 443775 / 2018-4.

Institutional credit

The Faculty of Public Health of the University of São Paulo (FSP-USP) and the management of the Live Birth Information System (SINASC) of the municipality of São Paulo.

We believe that collaboration between research, practice and management is essential to improve health care results.
